For my cycling friend.

This afternoon I learned a fantastic rider I cycled with last year was in a cycling accident over the Christmas period.  A gentle man, a rider I really respected and a kindred spirit.  The few days we spent riding together last September being the sweep team for a charity event and supporting others we had the opportunity to take life at a slower pace discussing life, science, cycling, passions, motivations, exploration, adventures, experiences and sleeping in hedges made me feel comfort in the world that there are mild manned, good people out there going about their business, doing what they do best and far from harming other, they were making the world a better place for others.  He died yesterday.  My world is a little shaken.  I'll miss him.

Edit:   I poem from his funeral.

He rode beyond the horizon line, not bound by such small things as time
A hardy soul, a heart of gold, never a dull story to be told.
A humble subtle kindly ear, a friendship so precious and dear
We must continue to ride afar, upon long roads of dirt and tar
We will no longer see him ride, but rest assured he by our side.
So when the road gets tough and you see no way through, stop and ask yourself
"What would Neville do?"
