The long ride.
For something I feel very inspired by (both doing and reading), here's a link to The Racing Collective GBEnduro report - ridden (and won) by cycling pro Lachlan Morton. In this write up, it highlights the feelings of community, pain, testing, fatigue, determination and comradeship of these events. Just reading the report flicks the switch in my head from "doin work" to "fuck it, I want my bike and ride into the cold and dark. I have layers, I can eat and go NOW."
